Kedarnath is a town located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is renowned for its ancient and sacred Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level in the Himalayas, making it one of the highest among the 12 Jyotirlingas, which are considered the holiest shrines of Lord Shiva.
Kedarnath attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists each year, especially during the summer months when the temple is accessible. The town serves as a base for trekking expeditions to nearby destinations such as Vasuki Tal, Chorabari Tal (Gandhi Sarovar), and the famous Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary.

Tungnath and Chandrashila is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage site and a small village located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India. It is famous for hosting the highest Shiva temple in the world, the Tungnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The Tungnath Temple is situated at an elevation of 3,680 meters (12,073 feet) above sea level, making it one of the Panch Kedar temples, a group of five temples dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. According to Hindu mythology, Tungnath is the place where the bahu (arms) of Lord Shiva appeared after his body was dismembered by Lord Vishnu to relieve the earth from the weight of the demon Tripurasura.
Apart from its religious significance, Tungnath is also renowned for its scenic beauty and serves as a base camp for trekkers heading towards the Chandrashila summit, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba.

Situated at an altitude of around 2,680 meters (8,790 feet) above sea level, Chopta is often referred to as the “Mini Switzerland of India” due to its stunning natural beauty and serene surroundings.
Chopta is famous for its lush green meadows, dense forests of pine, deodar, and rhododendron trees, and panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks including Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Chaukhamba. It serves as the base camp for trekking expeditions to Tungnath Temple and Chandrashila Peak, both of which are significant pilgrimage and adventure destinations.

The name “Haridwar” translates to “Gateway to God,” and the city is believed to be the place where Lord Vishnu left his footprint. Haridwar is also one of the four sites where the Kumbh Mela, a massive Hindu pilgrimage festival, is held every 12 years, rotating between Haridwar, Prayagraj, Nashik, and Ujjain.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 Delhi to haridwar stay in hotel
  • Day 2 - From Haridwar to Guptkashi (8 hrs)
  • Day 3 - From Guptkashi to Sonprayag to Kedarnath
  • Day 4 - From Kedarnath to Sonprayag to Chopta
  • Day 5 - Chopta stay to Tungnath and chandrashila trek back to Chopta
  • Day 6 - Chopta to Rishikesh.
  • Day 7 - Rishikesh to Delhi drop

Meals included (Dinner) Distance from Delhi to Haridwar is approx 230 kms and it would take 6 hours approx.

  • 8:30 am our representative will meet you at Delhi Airport and will pick you up from Delhi Airport (If you are traveling in advance please stay close to Delhi Airport).
  • 2:30pm Reach Haridwar and Self sponsored Lunch.
  • 3:30 pm Visit Ashrams and temples on the bank on river ganges.
  • 6:00 pm Visit to Har ki pauri Ghat. A sacred ghat on the banks of the Ganges River, known for its evening Ganga Aarti ceremony.
  • 7:30 pm Shopping at the market.
  • 8:30 pm Dinner and rest for the day.

Meals included ( Breakfast and dinner) The distance from Haridwar to Guptkashi is approximately 200-220 kilometers (8hours), depending on the route taken. Guptkashi is a small town in Uttarakhand, known for its religious significance and as a base for pilgrimages to Kedarnath.

Meals included ( Breakfast and dinner) Drive30 km | Trek14 km | Alt3384 m. Morning after breakfast, today we will go to Kedarnath. To reach Kedarnath you will have two options. One if by trekking and other is by Air via Helicopter (at your own cost). After reaching Kedarnath visit Kedarnath Temple. Check in to the hotel/ashram. Visit Shankaracharya Samadhi. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

Gaurikund to Sonprayag local jeep at your own cost. Guests can book that at their own cost. At arrival check in to the resort at Chopta. Overnight stay at Chopta.

  • 1. Chopta: Start your trek from Chopta, a picturesque hill station located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. Chopta serves as the base camp for the Tungnath and Chandrashila trek.
  • 2. Tungnath: Trek from Chopta to Tungnath, which is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is one of the Panch Kedar temples. The trek to Tungnath is approximately 3.5 kilometers and takes around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. The trail offers beautiful views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and lush forests.
  • 3. Chandrashila: From Tungnath, continue your trek to Chandrashila, which is located at an altitude of about 4,000 meters. The trek from Tungnath to Chandrashila is around 1.5 kilometers and takes about 1 hour. Chandrashila offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas, including peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba.
  • 4. Return to Chopta: After exploring Chandrashila and soaking in the majestic views, trek back to Chopta following the same route. Depending on your pace and preferences, you can either return the same day or stay overnight at Chopta and explore the area further.
  • Remember to carry enough water, snacks, appropriate clothing, and trekking gear for the journey. It's also essential to check the weather forecast and trail conditions before starting the trek, especially during the winter months when the region experiences snowfall.
